Q: Why should I invest with
Martin Capital Advisors?
A:
Martin Capital Advisors has a proven track record that places us at or
near the top of all equity and tactical asset allocation managers for
long-term returns.
Q:
How long has Martin Capital Advisors been in business?
A:
Paul Martin, the managing partner and chief investment officer, founded
Martin Capital Advisors in 1989.
Q:
What’s the secret to Martin Capital’s success – what’s the
strategy?
A:
We
utilize a buy and hold strategy in quality growth stocks, letting our winning stocks run.
We use leverage and options to take advantage
of extreme market conditions. However, we’re not aggressive short-term
market timers.
Q:
I hear a lot about tax efficient investing. What is it and are Martin
Capital Advisors portfolios tax efficient?
A:
Tax efficiency is expressed as a percentage. It measures the fraction of
overall investment gains retained after income taxes are paid. Typically,
a 39.1% marginal tax rate is used as a standard benchmark.
Martin Capital manages its portfolios with the objective of total
performance. However, our low turnover trading style reduces the frequency
of taxable events. Moreover,
we tend to invest in stocks paying little or no dividends. The net result
is that our tax efficiency is higher than both actively and passively
managed equity portfolios.
Q:
Martin Capital has a high percentage of tech stocks. Isn't that risky?
A: We have a high
exposure to the technology sector because we believe that is where the
strongest growth will occur. With the United States leading the
world in technological advancements, along with an ever-increasing global
economy, we remain committed to the strongest companies within this
sector.
Q: I like your investing style,
but I would like to take a less aggressive approach.
Can Martin Capital assist me?
A: Yes, we actually have five
different portfolio styles that we manage for our portfolio investors.
Our Balanced Portfolio and Conservative Portfolio are two styles
that are available with substantial fixed-income components.
Another popular option is to have Martin Capital Advisors only
manage the portion of your assets that you want to allocate to equities.
Q:
How do I get started?
A:
Please contact Martin Capital Advisors.
Depending on whether you just want information or a
complete portfolio analysis and consultation, a representative will send
you the appropriate materials and follow up to answer any questions.
